:: Merry Christmas ::

I was going to write a Christmas letter today, but I've been too busy!!  Now that I have the time, I am just too wiped out.  So I shall get to it tomorrow...or maybe later.  Here's what you should know for now:

My favorite part of today was sitting by the tree, Christmas music quietly playing in the background, and Papa (my dad) reading the Christmas story (a tradition carried on from my own Papa) and the kids opening their gifts.  It is so easy to get caught up with the "getting".  I was so content to sit back and concentrate on the "giving".  I have been blessed this year.  A new baby boy, a summer job, my brother moving close, vacations and a good raise (Ryan's job).

I am wealthy beyond belief.  Rich in relationships and time spent with close friends.  Loaded with love and affection from my babies.  I have a warm house, warm cozy bed.  Ryan and I were talking today about how blessed we are that I get to stay home with the kids.  I wouldn't trade these days and years for anything.  So today, and until Ryan has to go back to work after the first of the year, it's about stopping for me.  Stopping and relaxing and relishing.  Christmas has officially changed for me.  It's amazing to watch my kids take in the magic of the holidays, from Santa's cookies and milk disappearing, to the wonder as they listen to the Christmas story and singing Away In A Manger afterwards.  Treasuring.  Tucking it all away in my heart.  Just like Mary did.

Merry Christmas, friends and family.  May you and your families be richly blessed in the coming New Year.  Enjoy the rest of the holiday season!!
