:: 19 down ::

19 weeks...almost halfway there!

boy, am i getting huge.  huge-er.  humongouser.  larger.  rounder.  more rotund.  whatever you want to call it.

i'm feeling pretty good these days.  always tired, but that's just become part of my normal day-to-day.  but my fatigue has improved from before.  i did finally go shopping for some maternity clothes, but only ended up with 1 gap sweater.  meh.  it's hard to feel trendy or cute with a huge belly.  :P

anyway, here's what's going on these days:

Baby:

- weighs 8.5  ounces and measures 6 inches (about the size of a mango)

mango

- brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch.

- arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now.

- kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on his scalp is sprouting.

- A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on his skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

Me:

- feeling lots more movement; flutters have changed into full-on kicks and bumps.

- still with the back issue, but good 'ol doc gave me my little yellow pill-friends again, which makes sleeping possible.

- feet are swelling a bit

- i'm always cold.  always.  almost always, anyway.  wondering if my iron is low again, as in previous pregnancies.

19 weeks 19 weeks

i visited a friend today who has a 2 week old little girl.  i just love newborns.  so new, tiny and sweet.  it made me look forward to holding my new little guy, seeing his face and meeting him.  i know with the holidays approaching, time will go by very quickly.  whether i'm ready or not...he'll be here.  and my heart will grow to love another little baby of mine.  i'm so blessed.  and gassy.

goodnight.
