:: 17 week update ::

so, i skipped week 16 since not a whole lot different has been happening.

my favorites from this past week:

- Aidan started preschool!  And he loves it!!  He runs into his classroom without a care in the world.  So much confidence for a little guy.  I've been enjoying some Gia and mommy time.

- Laura barking out my back door at the barking dog behind us.  She was loud, crazy, and obnoxious.  And I loved it.  I love her and that is one example of why.

- Made a new soup (zuppa toscana) and tried it out on Ryan and the Lowery's (who seem to end up being my guinea pigs a lot) and it was wonderful!  A few tweaks here and there and it will be perfect!  Anyone have a good breadstick recipe?

- Got my new entertainment book in the mail!  Sadly, it is missing the coupon from our favorite indian food restaurant.  boo.  But has lots of goodies anyway!

- Survivor (among some of my other favorite shows) started again!  We have a nerdy bunch of friends who get together weekly to watch.  This is our 6th?  7th?  8th?  season.  I lost count.

- Doctor appointments for both kids.  I JUST LOVE OUR PEDIATRICIAN!!  She better never leave me.  Both kids are wonderfully healthy, Delia's skin has really cleared up and she put on enough weight to not worry the doctor anymore.  We do see some allergy testing in our future, but that's ok.

On to my weekly post...

Me: 17 weeks.  I feel huge.  Bloated.  Indigestion-y.  I'm feeling more and more movement - not a whole lot, but some here and there.  Seems I felt it sooner more frequently with Delia.  But who knows.  It was such a long time ago...snicker.  My bp is holding up nicely so far and I've lost 3 more pounds since my last appointment.  Right on track.  Heartbeat was at 159/160 per min.  Hyper little thing.

Baby:  Has toenails.  Skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone.  Umbilical cord is getting stronger and thicker.  Weighs 5 ounces and is about 5 inches long (a turnip) from head to bottom (crown to rump).  Can move joints and has sweat glands now.  Still has plenty of room in there to swim around.

We're right on track and feeling good.  Today is a lazy, rainy Saturday and I plan on enjoying the heck out of it.  Have a great weekend, everyone!
