:: mending ::

Monday, Monday...so good to me...

I feel human once more.  Other than a few lingering sniffles and a cough here and there, the Barrans family is on the mend.  These past two weeks have been a LONG HAUL.  There were days when I literally sat or laid and did nothing.  I finally got to the doctor and was put on some meds for a sinus infection and that seemed to take care of everything.  Whew!  Ryan is the worst still with lingering sinus stuff.  He'll probably develop a sinus infection too if he hasn't already - that will make it #3 in recent months.  Anyway, enough about snot.  Thanks to all of you who prayed for us to get better, offered to bring stuff, run errands, play with the kids.  You all are wonderful.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday.  The sun was shining most of the day (hooray!) and after a nice church service, we had a lovely picnic out at the park.  Arianna made a delicious spread of wonderful food.  She is really an amazing cook and makes it seem so effortless.  She really outdid herself making it a very special day for us moms.   (Thank you again, kind Arianna!)  We had a great time at the park just hanging out, eating, watching Aidan play on the playground and Delia eat her strawberries and steal other people's food off their plates.  I need to teach that kid some manners!  It was just an all-around relaxing day being appreciated by my husband and even Aidan seemed to be sweeter the whole day. Ryan got me flowers and a thoughtful gift as well (a headlamp I've been wanting for camping - very sweet).  I am truly in love with my family.  I was definitely missing my mom.  I called her and wished her a Happy Mother's Day, but it just wasn't the same...sigh.

Since I laid around listlessly dying for two weeks, my house shows it.  ACK.  laundry, grimy kitchen and floors, dust, the bathrooms *shudder*, kids' rooms...sigh.  I have a lot to catch up on.  And I haven't been able to work out for 2 weeks either.  So it's back to that tomorrow.  I'll be starting from the beginning stamina-wise, which I'm pretty bummed about, but I found this running / walking plan online that I am excited to try.  I also would like to start taking a class.  I just need to figure out which one - leaning towards spinning, but I tried one years back and almost died.  I think I'm up to the challenge, though!  We'll see!

Sorry for the random post, but it's been awhile and I have a lot of random thoughts swimming in my head.  I'll gather them better and organize them for next time.
